Twin Commander University Heads for San Antonio

The last round of polling on possible venues for the 2017 Twin Commander University has produced a leader: San Antonio, Texas.

The most-visited city in Texas narrowly edged out Santa Fe, New Mexico; Sedona and Scottsdale, Arizona; and Austin, Texas, as the preferred city in which to conduct the University. For those who are not familiar, the Twin Commander University is a biennial symposium for owners, operators, and pilots of all turbine- and piston-powered Twin Commanders. The three-day event features a comprehensive seminar on the proper use of airborne weather radar systems as well as hands-on sessions on the operation, care, and upgrade of Twin Commanders.

The University also is a social event with receptions and dinners where people with a common interest—Twin Commanders—compare notes and enjoy each other’s company.

Twin Commander authorized service centers, and individuals and companies that offer products and services to the Twin Commander fleet, also attend the University and set up displays to promote their products and answer questions.

The University traditionally takes place in late April or early May, which should be a nice time of the year in south-central Texas—cool at night, and sunny and warm during the day. The City of San Antonio is known for its Spanish colonial missions, the Alamo, the River Walk, and the Tower of Americas, among other attractions. The next step in University planning is to identify a suitable hotel as the base for the University. We will keep you posted on plans for the event.
