Looking Back, Looking Forward

As we kick off a new year here at Twin Commander Aircraft, I want to say a hearty Thank You! for an exciting year just concluded. When I think back on all the things we accomplished in 2011, its hard to believe that we packed it all in.

The big event in the first half of 2011 was, of course, the Twin Commander University. We had a wonderful time in Bonita Springs on Southwest Florida's Gulf coast, and got to learn a lot of things about flying, caring for, and upgrading Commanders. There is no better way to immerse yourself in Commander knowledge and people than attending the biennial University. Stay tuned for news about the 2013 Twin Commander University in Scottsdale, Arizona.

We welcomed the folks from SimCom Training Centers into the Commander family in 2011, and I am proud to say that they fit right in. We also got together at NBAA in Las Vegas and sharpened our focus on the future.

In 2011 we saw the rebirth of two Commanders as Eagle Creek Aviation Services completed Grand Renaissance conversions on two aircraft for the Colombian Army. And, speaking of rebirth, our friends at GAMA Engineering near London, England, joined Twin Commander's worldwide factory-authorized Service Center network.

Looking forward, we have several things planned for the new year. We will be going to Indianapolis for our biennial Service Center Symposium, where we get together with members of the Service Center network for some hands-on technicians' training and discussions of service issues in the Commander fleet. A little later in the year we will once again participate as an exhibitor at the NBAA Annual Meeting & Convention in Orlando, and we will be out in force in the fall at AOPA's Summit show in Palm Springs. We're also planning a few new product announcements this year, so please stay tuned.

Lastly, we look back on 2011 to remember the loss of several members of the Commander family to accidents in Arizona and Florida. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those friends and relatives still trying to cope in the wake of those tragic events.

As we move into 2012, I want to wish each of you personal success and great happiness in the year ahead.
