FROM THE FACTORY A Culture of Support

Over my many years working for Twin Commander Aircraft, and now as the company’s Business Unit Director, one thing has always impressed me. Unlike many legacy airplanes, Twin Commander Aircraft and our Authorized Service Center Network thrive on a culture of support.

One of my priorities when I came into this role was to visit some of our service center partners, which are the primary contact for Twin Commander owners and operators, to make sure Twin Commander Aircraft is as responsive as possible to their needs. The visits have reaffirmed my belief that we are unmatched in our ability to provide excellent support to the service centers and, by extension, to the fleet. Whether an owner needs a part; wants to perform an airframe, engine, or panel upgrade; is looking for a major aesthetic upgrade with new paint and interior; or wants to buy or sell an airplane, a Twin Commander Authorized Service Center is the only place to go. Simply put, I think our Service Center Network is the best in the business and offers Twin Commander owners and operators tremendous confidence and peace of mind.

While I know our network serves customers well, it’s reassuring to hear it from owners as well. This month’s feature story, “From Pro Basketball Player to Twin Commander Pilot” on Twin Commander owner John Hummer is a great example. Hummer could have chosen many other aircraft, but he decided on a Twin Commander in large part because of the level of service he received from an Authorized Service Center.

We understand there are other choices out there for maintenance, sales, and other ownership needs. But I think going to a Twin Commander Authorized Service Center is a savvy choice for an owner. Think of it like this: When you get sick, where do you go? If you’re like most people you ask friends for recommendations, scour the internet for reviews, or maybe even seek out publications that show the doctor’s qualifications. You do your homework and make sure you are going to the best doctor you can. Why should your airplane be any different? You’ve made a large investment to own and operate a Twin Commander. It makes sense that you would take it to the best possible place for service, upgrades, and parts, a Twin Commander Authorized Service Center.

Speaking of parts, one size definitely does not fit all. You may find some third-party replacement parts for your Twin Commander. But I can almost guarantee that those parts are not the same quality as what you’ll find from an Authorized Service Center. Every part we make at Twin Commander Aircraft has direct traceability back to the original manufacturer. We can tell you where, when, and how it was made, down to the nut, bolt, and bushing. As such, we can and do issue FAA Form 8130 for virtually all the parts we sell. I’ve seen other sellers offer an FAA Form 8130 on only a portion of the parts they sell in kits. What about the other numerous nuts, bolts, and washers in the kit? Are they not as important to the safety of the aircraft as the rest of the parts that are certifiable?

It’s like medication. Once you go to that great doctor, are you going to go home and buy your medication off the internet or from some guy on the street? Of course not. When you go to a pharmacy, that medication is traceable back to the certified facility where it was produced. That process gives us all comfort knowing it’s as safe as it can possibly be. Twin Commander Aircraft parts purchased from an Authorized Service Center are no different.

I’m extremely proud of the work our Authorized Service Centers do for Twin Commander owners. If you are not a current customer of one of these 13 great independent companies located around the world, you owe it to yourself to give one a call to discuss your next service needs.
