COMMANDING PRESENCE Carl Jepsen

GAM Group CEO Carl Jepsen has made aviation into a lifelong career. He started at 16 as an apprentice, and spent 15 years on the floor maintaining airplanes and helicopters. After a transition to operations and sales management roles, he completed a master’s degree in business administration and ran a few helicopter and airplane maintenance facilities in his native New Zealand. The move to Australia and the head position at the GAM Group came seven years ago. Flight operations of this intensity was new to Jepsen, but he has learned quickly and soon transformed the company and culture. “GAM is very unique in that way,” he said.

As the CEO of the GAM Group Jepsen is responsible for GAM Air’s flight operations, the company’s repair and overhaul business, internal flight training, and all the other lines of business.
