COMMANDING PRESENCE Bruce Byerly

Bruce Byerly has aviation in his blood. His grandfather founded Byerly Aviation in the 1930s, started selling Commanders in the 1950s, and became one of the first Twin Commander Factory Authorized Service Centers. His father carried on the tradition of the business, and Bruce grew up at the airport. His first job at the company was in the paint booth, and he said he really learned how to fly when shuttling canceled checks all around the Midwest.

In 2007 he and his family moved to Naples, Florida, to help get the Naples Jet Center off the ground. When corporate owners wanted to divest Byerly Aviation in 2017, Bruce and his partners saw it as an opportunity to help revive the family name.

Finally, last year, the acquisition of Naples Jet Center was finalized, and he took control of the busy Twin Commander Factory Authorized Service Center to help launch it into the next phase of growth.

Byerly is an avid pilot and likes to race cars on free weekends. He is well known in the community as a Commander expert, especially as it relates to buying, selling, and operating the aircraft. He currently owns a cherry Shrike he calls his dream airplane. It features a flat panel with a Gamin G600 and dual Garmin G750s.
