The FAA has inserted an additional step in the process for requesting an Alternate Method of Compliance (AMOC) regarding airworthiness directives affecting Twin Commanders.

Until now an AMOC package could be submitted directly to Vince Massey, an FAA engineer at the Seattle Aircraft Certification Office, which oversees Twin Commander Aircraft LLC. Massey is responsible for reviewing proposed changes to Twin Commander type design data.

All requests for an AMOC still can be directed to Massey, but they must be sent to the following email address: [email protected].

This will allow the AMOC request to be logged in before it is forwarded to staff (Massey) for formal review. If the AMOC package is sent as an Adobe pdf file that shows the signature of the applicant, the sender does not need to also send a hard copy of the application.
